Pray for our state and our country.

• GOP loses 27 seats in the House of Representatives to Democrats.
• Senate still in a tight race, probably will go to Democrats as well.
• Nancy Pelosi becomes the House Speaker.
• Measure 85 failed - Waiting period and parental notification before termination of minor's pregancy
• Measures 1A-1E all passed, which means that we will be paying through the nose for generations to come.
• Schwarzenegger wins again for a full 4-year term....until some nutjobs decides to do another recall election.

I dunno...I could go on and on, but it only makes me sadder to think of the possibilities our country could be going. Granted, this new series of events will have us fighting even harder for what's morally and spiritually right for this country/state/city.

Perhaps there is a purpose in all of this. Perhaps this shift in power is what God is allowing for His ultimate purpose. This kind of event reminds me of the studies in the book of Daniel during our young couples group here in Salinas. It's interesting to see the shift in power between the Babylonians, Medo-Persians, Greeks and Romans and the fact that Daniel prophesied it all through God! Also, listening to the "Focus on the Family" podcast kind of put a lot things into perspective. If you have the chance, subscribe the shows through iTunes! They're really great!
